Flipkart has historically had an edge here, partly because of exclusive launch tie-ups with phone manufacturers and its own bank-partner cashback structures. If a specific phone model is exclusive to one platform, that alone can decide where you buy regardless of the discount percentage on the other side.

Fashion and lifestyle

This tends to run closer, with both platforms discounting heavily. Myntra (owned by Flipkart) usually outpaces Amazon Fashion on depth of discount and brand selection, so if fashion is the main category you’re shopping, checking Myntra directly during this window is often worth it.

Amazon’s own ecosystem

If you already use Kindle, Echo, or Fire TV, Amazon’s sale on its own hardware is usually the single best discount window of the year for those specific products, better than what you’d find on Flipkart’s competing options at almost any other time.

The card-linked discount layer

Both platforms partner with specific banks for additional instant discounts on top of the sale price, and this is where the real gap often opens up. A 10% instant discount with an eligible card can outweigh whichever platform has the marginally lower base price. A practical way to actually compare

Don’t try to judge this in general. For your specific big-ticket item:

1. Check the price on both platforms once the sale goes live, not the “coming soon” teaser price
2. Check your card-linked instant discount on each
3. Check whether No Cost EMI options differ meaningfully between the two, since processing fees vary and aren’t always as free as advertised

Whichever number comes out lower after all three checks is the actual answer for that purchase, not a general platform preference.
